After feeling inspired by some of the excellent photography of Brum I’ve seen on twitter recently, I created this city view to show off Birmingham’s eclectic mish-mash of architectural styles.
Based on the view looking North up from Digbeth, which is quite recognisable now as Brum’s skyline, it has a lovely mix of the old and the new. You can spot the BT tower in the distance, the Rotunda, St Martin-in-the-Bullring and the unmistakable Selfridges armadillo.
I like to create cool patterns and use simple geometric shapes to create the recognisable features you see in the buildings.
